Job Title: Salesforce Business Analyst
Location: Bangalore, India
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Salesforce Business Analyst responsible for business discovery, requirements and functional design for an in-house Salesforce platform supporting global sales, service, revenue operations, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibility:
- Partner with stakeholders in Sales, Revenue Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Manufacturing Operations to elicit, challenge, and document business requirements.
- Translate requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional designs that the platform team can build against.
- Run discovery and process-mapping workshops; document current-state (as-is) and target-state (to-be) processes across quote-to-cash, opportunity management, sales agreements, and forecasting.
- Perform gap-fit analysis between business needs and standard Salesforce capability, and make a clear recommendation on configure vs. customize vs. change the process.
- Configure declarative solutions where appropriate — flows, validation rules, page layouts, record types, reports and dashboards — and hand off the rest with well-specified stories.
- Own functional testing: write and execute test scripts, coordinate UAT with business users, triage defects, and manage sign-off.
- Support data readiness for releases — data mapping, cleansing rules, migration validation, and reconciliation.
- Drive adoption: build training material, run enablement sessions, maintain process documentation, and track post-release usage to confirm the expected benefit landed.
- Maintain and groom the product backlog with the Product Owner; help size, sequence, and communicate the release roadmap.
- Serve as functional escalation point for complex production issues, working with support and development to resolve root causes.
- Track and assess each Salesforce release for features that could retire custom work or unlock roadmap items.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Business Systems Analyst on the Salesforce platform.
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and converting them into user stories, functional specifications, and process documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud — leads, accounts, opportunities, products and price books, quotes, forecasting, and territory or role-based access models.
- Hands-on declarative configuration skills: Flow, validation rules, custom objects and fields, record types, page layouts, permission sets, reports and dashboards.
- Solid grasp of the Salesforce data model, sharing and visibility model, and the practical limits of declarative vs. programmatic solutions.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Asana.
- Experience designing and executing functional test cases and coordinating UAT with business users.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to explain trade-offs to both non-technical business leaders and technical engineers.
- Salesforce Certified Administrator, or Salesforce Certified Business Analyst.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud — CPQ, product and pricing configuration, quoting, approvals, contracts, order management, or billing. Exposure to Revenue Cloud Advanced (formerly Revenue Lifecycle Management) is a strong plus.
- Experience with Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud — sales agreements, account-based forecasting, run-rate vs. new business planning, program-based business, or rebate management.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or B2B distribution business, and familiarity with how it sells (distributors, channel partners, long-cycle agreements, blanket POs).
- Understanding of quote-to-cash end to end, including the handoffs into ERP for order fulfilment, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
- Experience with Salesforce–ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar) and the data contracts between them.
- Familiarity with data tools such as Data Loader, Data Import Wizard, or Salesforce Inspector, and comfort writing SOQL for analysis.
- Awareness of Salesforce release management and environment strategy — sandboxes, change sets, or a DevOps tool such as Copado or Gearset.
- Additional credentials such as Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant, Revenue Cloud Consultant (now Revenue Management Consultant), Manufacturing Cloud Accredited Professional, or Platform App Builder.
- Exposure to Agentforce, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, or CRM Analytics.
Key Competencies:
- Salesforce Sales Cloud / Revenue Cloud / Manufacturing Cloud
- Requirements & Functional Design
- Business Process Analysis
- Stakeholder Management
- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria
- Salesforce Platform & Agile Delivery
- Cross-functional Collaboration
