Title: IS Infrastructure Support Associate.
Department: IS Report to: IS Manager.
Position Summary:
This Onsite position is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic manufacturing company, focusing on the support of IT technology at the site in Galway. Working as part of the Galway IS team and supported by the Global IS Team, this is a hands-on role with a wide variety of responsibilities as outlined below.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work as part of a Local & Global Helpdesk Support team, responding to Service requests and incidents within specific SLAs for the Galway Site’s 3 buildings & remote support for staff working in UK and Europe.
- Ongoing review of Pro-Active monitoring systems and responding to alerts or issues as required.
- Troubleshoot Technology issues.
- Network and hardware support.
- Liaises with Global IS department to ensure adherence to corporate IS guidelines and consistency of operations.
- Respond to ad hoc and urgent requests.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain equipment and software.
- Training staff on use of company software / applications.
- Administration of onsite VMWare servers.
- Manage Desktop inventory and administration of corresponding equipment leases.
- Implement / administrator correct on site backup procedure of servers and data.
- Fault Diagnosis, carry out full troubleshooting of hardware/ software problems using knowledge and tools as per training, procedures and documentation provided.
- Involvement in a variety of projects and improvement initiatives, ranging from global to locally impacting.
- Work with 3rd party vendors and suppliers.
- Documentation of Standard Operating Procedures, Knowledge Base Articles and training procedures.
- Upkeep of stock system.
- Provide afterhours support as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year experience in an IT related support role preferable.
- At minimum, a Level 7 degree in an IT discipline is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under time pressure.
- Strong diagnostics and trouble shooting skills.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365 email, Microsoft Teams, VMWare, Windows 10/11, Server 2012R2/ 2016/ 2019, AWS, Azure, desktops/laptops, Cisco IP phones, Extreme Switches an advantage.
- Knowledge of Cyber Security methodology and best practices preferable.
- Knowledge of Linux preferable.
- Teamwork and ability to work cross functionally.
Job Types: Full-time. This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday, based in Galway city.
